Stephen Smith delivered a lecture on sustainable re-use to Cambridge Arcsoc featuring recent work on the AA Masterplan and Magdalen Library alongside pioneering sustainable solutions at Hull Truck Theatre, RCA and the Taylor Library.


Bredinghurst School has had a name change and is soon to be known as Newlands Academy!

Work is continuing at pace and the external works are really starting to take shape.

Oakfield School, one of the practices two SEN schools currently on site has featured in this week’s BD within the ‘First Look’ section; exciting stuff!

Clare Wright was delighted to be invited to be on the judging panels of both the Young Architect of the Year Awards and the AR Emerging Architecture Awards and was greatly enthused by the outstanding calibre of many of the submissions.


A recent trip by the whole office to the new Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield by David Chipperfield was preceded by a lively lunch. The rainy day didn’t dampen excited responses to some of the concrete detailing and the surprise of both the industrial context and the proximity of the A638; neither of which was betrayed by many of the published photos! Some of the smaller Hepworth sculptures and many of the working casts were tremendously evocative and a few pieces by Richard Long were quite astounding and well set in their new home.
